If you are looking at this page it is because you have something to do with Children. You are a Parent, an Aunt, an Uncle, a Teacher or you are someone who has the well-being of Children at heart.
You will have seen children using Cell Phones, or you may even have bought a mobile for your child. It will be reassuring to know that you can stay in touch with them, that they can tell you where they are, or let you know when they going home or when you can pick them up. How did we ever manage in the days when we were going to school, the days before Cell Phones?
We are fast becoming a cell phone generation. Don’t get me wrong. I do believe in progress.
Using a car is more convenient then riding a horse, but every invention has a plus side and a minus side. Cars may have been one of the most important inventions of the 20th century, but at the start of the 21st. century, we are trying to solve many of the problems that were created by the Motor Industry. Mexico City is one of the most polluted cities on earth. We go to war to feed our cars.
Most of us do not give a second thought to driving the car. Get in, put on the seatbelt, switch on the engine and off we go. We don’t have to think about how we are going to get where we are going. We can be thinking about the meeting we are going to, the shopping we are going to get, the show we are going to see or whether to try the great new recipe that we are hearing about on the radio. If your son or your daughter drives a car, they do the same. They get in, they put on the seatbelt, turn the key in the ignition, and off they go.
When it first became Law that we had to put our seatbelts on, there were many people who resisted the idea. They saw it as an infringement of their personal freedom. But it has been law for so many years that it has almost become a conditioned reflex. We get into the car, we put on our seatbelts and we make sure that our children put theirs on too.
Did you know that some children spend up to 25 hours a week on the mobile phone? Did you know that some children sleep with their mobile under their pillow, in case a friend sends them a SMS message?
Thanks to Mobile Technology, you can do a lot more on your mobile than just make a phone call.
But in order to make it possible to send messages, record and send videos or connect to the Internet, the signal has to be more powerful, and as more and more people ‘get connected’ more and more cell phone towers are being installed on rooftops everywhere.
What has this got to do with you and your child?
Cell Phones emit a great deal of Electromagnetic Radiation. This Radiation has a negative effect on the human brain, especially young and growing brains. A young skull is thinner and softer than the skull of an adult. Radiation can cause irreversible damage or even Cancer. In the last 10 years, incidences of Cancer of the brain have increased by 41%. This increase has occurred especially among young people and children.
So, what are we supposed to do? Stop using Cell Phones? Well, that isn’t going to happen. What would life be like if we had to stop using our cars? So what if they cause pollution? So what if leaded fuel causes brain damage? So what if their continued use is going to cause irreversible Climate Change? The convenience is too great, and since we don’t feel the effect until it is usually too late, we have a tendency to take the risk.
We may become aware of the increased incidence of brain tumors and use our mobiles phone less for a while, but before too long we slip back into using it as much as we always did. It’s as tough as quitting smoking.
Cell Phones are a billion dollar industry. Once upon a time, Tobacco was a billion dollar industry.
So if you are not going to stop using a mobile phone, you could at least wear a seatbelt.
The seatbelt for Cell Phones, your protection from the effects of Electromagnetic Radiation, is a little device which can be stuck onto the side of your Cell Phone.
This little shield, which is only 12mm in diameter, will prevent the radiation from entering your body.
Cell phone companies could be installing these shields into their phones, but to do so would mean acknowledging the connection between their product and the unusual increase in the incidence brain tumors over the last ten years. Once upon a time, smoking was advertised as beneficial.
Do yourself a favour; check this out at least for sake of your children
